Who? Me? Guilty. But not in the way that you would think. Or maybe it is, I can't really say since I'm not inside your head. Mine is crazy enough for 6 lifetimes, thankyouverymuch.
So I've been doing this blogging thing
Spoiler alert: At some point, I even plan on writing a book. That's kind of where I'm going with all of this nonsense. I've actually started a memoir, and it's just as disturbingly distasteful as my blog. I'm at a point where I've got to decide which lines I'm willing to cross. Stories I'm willing to tell. Relationships I'm ok with exposing, for the good, the bad, the ugly. I'm curious to all you out there who take the time to read this, what kind of things would YOU like to read about? I'm obviously not a jack of all trades. I'd go so far as to say I've really got nothing figured out. But I can tell a kick ass exaggerated story. I've seen some pretty dark days. Really dark, actually. Some past, some present, and surely some down the road I don't even know about yet. I honestly believe they are behind every funny person you meet. Humor, at least mine, comes in turning life on it's head. Saying, "screw you" to circumstances I can't control and making it fun for everyone. My mom has always said, with every situation you have two choices. You can laugh, or you can cry. I think we all know where I stand on that.
So friendships, what things do you enjoy reading? For me, I like learning about life, through humor and sorted advice from other's experiences. Leave me a comment, or shoot me an email and tell me your guilty pleasures...you don't even have to keep it clean. I'm just that kind of girl. Seriously. Spill! By the way, I know there is more than one person in Russia out there stalking my blog! Internet high fives for the 735 page hits you've given me. And bonus zebra points to the blogger dashboard for giving me that golden piece of information. I'm such a creep.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite bloggity posts of yours are usually hubby/wife stories & dialogue. But I always love when you get deep and serious about it too because relationship dynamics fascinate me and you guys have pretty much the greatest one ever.
Also if you'd like to include your tips on being HOTT I'd really appreciate those too.

ReplyDeleteI've been blogging on and off since 2007, oh my blog has seen so many reincarnations it's not funny. I'm all for brutal honesty, as you can tell on my blog ha.
What do I like to read about? I love to read about the real and the raw in another human being's life. I believe we need more of that, more courage to bare who we really are to the world and stand up for our integrity and diversity. I don't believe in good or bad, I believe the concept of morality has done more damage than good and has been abused as an indoctrinated system of control.
I like to read about another human being's journey through life, which I believe is for Exploration, Experimentation, Experience and Expression. And that's where blogs come in. ;)
Keep writing, keep sharing, I like it here and I like your writing! ;)

ReplyDeleteI actually found your blog through Silver's blog and I think your blog is so fun. My bff and I get along so well because no one else gets our sarcastic humor ha. I guess we're like an acquired taste? idk lol. I, too, could never stick to a journal as much as it was a great outlet for me and a great idea, but blogging has definitely been my thing. Whoa, I just realized my blog-iversary is coming up at the end of the month! Who would have thought I'd commit to this for a whole year. Whoops, don't mind my random thoughts. Anyways, glad I stumbled on your blog and I can't wait to keep reading more posts!

You make me laugh, Lauren Elizabeth. Any book you'd write, I'd buy ten. And that's a promise. I've started a book too, not about my life, I don't think I'm funny enough to be so self-exposing and still get by with the kind of pee-your-pants laughter that you envoke with your stories. I think the memoir idea is a great one. I think you have a lot to say, and have gone through a lot that people could relate to. Have you read anything written by Chelsea Handler? I think your writing style is very similar and you could get published.
